Coach Smith graduated from Inglemoor HS where he played football, basketball and baseball. He played football with Coach Maxwell in ‘93-’94, on a team that finished 2nd in State. In 2006 he was inducted into the Viking Football Hall of Fame.
He graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Kinesiology, earned his Masters Degree in teaching, and completed his Health and Fitness Endorsement (K-12) from Seattle Pacific U. Coach Smith is a PE teacher at Timbercrest Middle School in the Northshore School District since 2014.
In addition to playing baseball in college, he played 3 years of minor league baseball in the Northern and Western Leagues.
This is Coach Smith’s 20th year with the Falcon Football program. Cory also coaches boys basketball (2013) and baseball (2016) at Woodinville.
In 2010, Coach Smith led the Mercer Island HS baseball team to a KingCo 3A co-championship, winning the KingCo 3A tournament that led to only the 2nd state playoff appearance and the 1st state play-off victory in school history. He was also voted KingCo 3A Coach of the Year.
