44 JERSEY RECIPIENT (2022)

What Is Your Favorite Falcon Memory?

My favorite memory as a Falcon was week 8 of my senior year. We played a talented North Creek team that had just beaten Bothell for the first time in the history of their program. Our team was on a rough 4-game losing streak, going into the game being just 2-5. It was a physical defensive battle that resulted in only one field goal for North Creek. In addition, our offense scored the first touchdown in 4 weeks. With the game coming down to the wire, North Creek had the ball on a final opportunity to score with about 1 minute remaining. On a deep 3rd down pass I was able to get a game-sealing interception, breaking our program's worst losing streak in years, and providing our team with much-needed hope going forward.

What Did It Mean To Wear The 44 Jersey?

Wearing 44 was an extraordinary honor. Being able to be a part of Parker’s legacy has been an unforgettable experience. When I first received the number, my everyday mannerisms instantly changed. It has helped me become more aware of the effect I have on others. It acted as a reminder that I needed to be there for everyone at all times. In my best effort to uphold what Parker stood for, I valued everyone on my team the same. Giving rides to people when applicable, giving advice to underclassmen, and most of all, being there for my teammates in the face of adversity. Wearing 44 has encouraged me to be the best version of myself possible, and regardless of circumstance, support and promote growth in others. Although I did not have the opportunity to meet Parker, what he stood for and all the 44 recipients before me have been beyond inspiring. I am incredibly thankful to have been given the opportunity to continue the legacy he left behind, and to carry these lessons with me for the rest of my life.
