Parker Archie Moore Tribute

LETTER FROM PARKER’S FAMILY

To our Falcon Family,

We want to thank you for your continued recognition of Parker Archie Moore through the 44STRONG theme.

Parker was killed in a random murder on November 16, 2014, in McMinnville Oregon while attending Linfield University where he studied business, was a resident advisor, and football player. Parker was a person that made a significant impact in his short life – his grave marker has inscribed “The loss of this son, brother, friend and teammate makes a void so wide and deep that nothing but the width and depth of love’s eternity can fill it.”

We know that as time passes, many of you didn’t know Parker but you know of him because of stories told and the 44STRONG theme that represents his character. There are many Falcon coaches, teachers and families that continue to remember Parker and say his name to us. This means so much to us. The Gridiron Club has honored Parker in words and scholarship fundraising – we are in awe of this. We deeply appreciate this kind support.

Coach Maxwell chose to embrace this tragedy and make it his own. He allowed Parker to help inspire, bring focus, and put a name to the Falcon core principles. We are forever thankful to Coach Maxwell.

There are many, many Falcons, maybe most, that represent 44STRONG. We imagine a big grin on Parker’s face each time 44STRONG inspires a player to put others first, encourage someone, include others that might not be included, giving their all, be in the moment, and live with passion.

A select few are chosen to wear the 44 jersey each season. It is our pleasure to get to know the players and they always express honor and responsibility. We encourage them to think of this as “wind in their Falcon wings” as the legacy of strength and character will propel them to be their best.

With love and appreciation, Doug, Julee and Hayley Moore.
