44 JERSEY RECIPIENT (2017)

What Is Your Favorite Falcon Memory?

I have three favorite Falcon memories while playing football at WHS that I wish to share:

1) Coming to school on a game-day and all the teammates are wearing green retro jerseys. The team meets up in the commons for the pep-rally during Options/Falcon Time with the band, where we start playing and singing the Falcon Fight Song, as a group. Then, we play the turn-up song that’s played prior to the start of the 4th quarter on the speakers, in preparation for the big night, and to encourage classmates to come out and support. That is very much, and may still be, typical game-day routine/tradition.

2) Another favorite memory would be traveling to Spokane during playoffs in 2016 and playing Gonzaga Prep in Joe Alibi Stadium for a chance to advance in state, nearly coming back from behind to win. Derek Hamer was a workhouse that year and Dylan Axelson was an exceptional captain/leader.

3) The last memory that has a lasting impression would be having an undefeated run our senior year and playing in the State Championship at the Tacoma Dome vs Richland in 2017. Nearly coming back to win it, in the end.

What Did It Mean To Wear The 44 Jersey?

Wearing #44 means you’re representing, Parker Moore, someone who lost their life far too soon. When the tragic incident happened, it blew a shockwave through communities causing a strong bridging of togetherness and relationships. Wearing #44 is about being a resource and a light for others, and being an individual that lives up to the Falcon Core Principles; someone that has the utmost respect, selflessness, integrity, grit, perseverance, class and sportsmanship, in all aspects of life. Being an example for others is what it means to wear #44 and it’s all in honor of Parker, who’s legacy will live on forever; connecting and strengthening individuals, teams, groups, schools, organizations and families, for years on end.
