Miles Mustarde

44 Jersey Recipient (2018)

What Is Your Favorite Falcon Memory?

My favorite Falcon memory was during our 4A state final’s game at the end of my junior year. I remember very vividly walking into the Tacoma Dome for the first time and feeling the excitement of playing our last game of the season as a finalist for our division. It felt surreal playing in a massive stadium and the feeling was like nothing I'd felt before after taking my first step onto the field. Unfortunately, we lost against Richland, but the way our team all came together, in both sadness and happiness, afterward really showed how close the entire team became over the season.

What Did It Mean To Wear The 44 Jersey?

Before even coming into the program, as a 7th and 8th grader playing junior football, I remember going to the high school games on Friday nights and seeing Parker play. I was always motivated by seeing the level of intensity that he played at. When I finally moved up to the high school level and saw Dylan Axelson represent 44, then seeing Ben Metsker represent 44, and finally, Jake Baillie and Jared Eisenbarth represent 44. I finally understood what it meant to represent Parker and his legacy. Parker to me was the definition of excellence. Both on and off the field, he presented himself as a shining light that to this day continues to motivate and bring out excellence in those who wear 44. I felt, and still feel, beyond honored to share Parker's jersey and continue his legacy which is being excellent in everything that we do.

What Are You Doing Today? (written 10-24-22)

Today, I am serving in the United States Air Force and continuing to use the lessons Parker's legacy has taught me by being excellent in everything I do.
